Red Tower Embankment
At the first sight of here, I fell for her beauty and tranquility. Not bringing my camera, I said to myself that I'll be back soon. Two weeks later, July 19, 2003, I came here again with my grandma and my father, of course, and my camera, too. Gera, from Netherland, visited her colleague Francke, working at ING Bank Taipei for one year. They came to Red Tower together that day and I happened to be a waiter taking their order in my poor English...
Double Bay Bookshelf 2003
Finally, my dream bookshelf arrived. Double bay with two-dimension tracks embeded, it relieved the burden of old small ones. It cost me an arm and a leg, but it's worthy. I spent the whole afternoon clearing out a neat place for it, and the whole night reloading tons of my books. July 12, 2003.
Children's Party 2002
Aunt and Cousin's family visited us on June 28, 2003. Our house became a kindergarten being crowded with three children. We then had a hot-pot gathering near Uncle Five's place, downtown in Taipei.
Chinese New Year 2002
The year 2002, when I was just back to Taiwan from UT Austin, we visit almost all our relatives during the Chinese New Year. Grandma, Mom, and Dad also made traditional Chinese Cakes for them all.
The Birth of QQ
My cute nephew, QQ, was born on Jul 29, 2001. Thanks to her, I became a real uncle. Here are pictures taken in hospital when she still slept in incubator.
Bedroom 2002
Before the Chinese New Year 2002, I rearranged my bedroom layout as well as cleaned up the mess in my room. Wall decoration and a self-made bookshelf featured this rearrangement.
Tomb Sweeping 2002
During Chin-ming Festival in 2002, we gathered at the grave in Chia-yi paying respects to our ancestors.
Backpacking for Nali Typhoon
Nali Typhoon destructively hit Taiwan on Sep 17, 2001. We've got to backpack all our stuff and move up to higher shelter 'cuz we live in Si-jr City, the most highly possible flooded area in Taipei.
Sister's Wedding
My only sister got married on Dec 16, 2000. Dad held the wedding half month before I left for Texas. A wierd thing was, my professor, Dr. Jack Tserng, insisted joining in our party and giving us a big "Red Envelop"!
Self-designed 3-legged Table
Since I spend a great amount of time on writing with my laptop and need a more comfortable position doing this, I designed and made a 3-legged table to this end. One of my closest friends, Louis Ko, helped me with the design and making. He also postured like a model for photography.
Dear Hamsters
I'd ever had seven cute hamsters one after another since I graduated from university in 1996. Piggy and Bear are the first two that kept company with me sticking out the entrance exam of graduate school. All of them died from different diseases or accidents. Sometimes, I miss them very much. But I'm afraid to have another one again 'cuz I don't think I could bear another lose of little life....
