Karaok Party with HP Research group
I just went crazy there with buddies in my old days at NTU. It's alomost two years that I haven't sung that way at KTV. HP Research group cerebrated his graduation season in 2003 and gathered at Training Center of Taipower Co., staying overnight in the beautiful mountain town, Wulai, Taipei, July 4, 2003.
Pali Tour with Dr. Serv
Dr. Serv is a software company, where Hanae works. It's no less than a company; it's a family, as I know. Hanae asked me to join in their tour, and I said yes. We all had a good day in Pali, Taipei, May 31, 2003.
Engineer Officers 52-2
During Enginer Officer Training of my army service, I encounterred another 39 tough guys in Kaohsiung, the largest city of southern Taiwan, May 15-23, 2003
Tom & Will
Being a nature lover who's done enough mountain climbing as well as a volunteered parachuter, Tom is also an amateur photographer. For those months before leaving his army service, he's been staying in his own-built darkroom and developing tons of films shot in his early ages. He then made them into a photo portfolio, one subtitle of which would be his friend at NTU. Here are his work about that subtitle, course, the leading actor is me....
David & Peter
It's a long story about this weird combination. First, David, grew up in America, visited his cousin, my professor, in summer of 2002. About the same time, I encountered Peter at a bus stop near my home. He was a software engineer from Sweden and came to Taipei to attend a conference. Finally, we three as well as my schoolmate Louis decided to go driving together....
Night visit to Nine-Fun
Time: 22:30 Fri, Aug 30, 2002
BirdKing: It's late. We'd better visit a closer place!
Louis: How about Nine-fun?
Me: Done! Let's go!
BirdKing: ..........
Kenting Tour
Kenting is the first National Park of Taiwan, famous for her beautiful ocean and diverse marine lives. I went to Tainan for a conference held by NCKU, and forced Bird King to visit Kenting with me after the conference. Then we bought two train tickets to Kaohsiung, transferred a bus to Kenting, and rented a compact for driving out there...
John & Maria
John and Maria are the most speical American couple that I've ever known. They had a big plan to travel around the world, and did it. John and my professor Jack were classmates in their graduate school. Our friendship began with Jack's appointing me as the city guide for them...
Brave Parachuter, Tom
Let me introduce an endangered species in Taiwan, Tom, who volunteered to join in Parachute Corps, the toughest troop only second to Marine Corps. The pictures are provided by him after his surviving from real jumps. God bless him! He'll leave the Army safely this summer.
LTTC's Farewell Party
Matt is the best English teacher that I've ever had in Taiwan. He was funny, and sometimes humorous. He play Tarot cards to tell fortune for each of us at the last class. He was very serious when he told fortune even though we knew what he said was all sh---t!
Taroko National Park
Bird King, a jogging lover, asked me to join the marathon held in Taroko National Park with him. I am not really good at running, but I am a good man. I dragged four poor guys into the mire. To be frank, I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Hualian and the sound sleep in the 5-star hotel...
Spoto's second day at work
Spoto is the one that I spent most time on. All about her research, OK? These pictures were taken at a restaurant near our graduate school to celebrate her being offered a job and another friend's coming back from the Army.
Pooling in UT Austin
Yusuke, the best Japanese friend of mine, encouraged us to play billiard one day we were out of class from ESL of UTAustin. He said, he was very good at snooker.... After pooling, he lost all games to us. He said again, actually he was good at 9-ball...."Later on, however, it turned out that he actually was!" (The last sentance in the quotation was Yusuke's order to add in after he spotted my loyal description against him!)
Farewell Party
A week before my leaving for the US to study English at the end of year 2001, HP Research Team held a farewell party for me in Cashcounter KTV. They bought a cake and prepared presents for me. They even sang Happy Birthday Song to me. I was sooooo touched at that time. However, a bad scheme just came right after I made a wish with my eyes close....
X'mas Gathering
The Classical Guitar Society used to gather together at any chance even long time after our graduation. Christmas Eve was the one we could not miss. We visited Carulli's new mansion, had a hot-pot at Cherry's place, and watched slides of our pictures during the old days.
HP Research Team
That was a big day for all members of the team. We were called back to take shots with our head, Prof. Hui-ping Tserng, in a photo studio. After that, we had a big meal treated by the professor, and take more shots there with our digital camera.
Classical Guitar Society
During my four-year's undergraduate, CGS gave me lots of laughs and tears that made me grow up and killed spare time. Curtain design of concert interested me more than a solo performance by guitar. I really love the peacefulness of concert instead of receiving bouquet...
